Halloween and Fall fun a bit late

Well, just as I was putting my Christmas ducks all in a row and uploading pictures to make calendars and scrape book I realized I have shirked the family blog a bit.  So here goes...hope the update is a fun read. It certainly was a fun time for our family.

The bird refuge was a fun spot to go to a couple of times. The amazing birds are so beautiful. The cat tails are favorite for our little ones to play with and spread the fleece all over in the wind.

Well, M and J-dog were enjoying tumbling so much that their instructor let me add Boo and Adds too plus Boos little friend. So now the class is pretty much our family.  J-dog is working on his whip and everyone else is mastering back-handsprings!

And of course the first day of school. Everyone was actually excited to get back into learning on a routine basis. Of course N the great is a senior which is thrilling. He was awarded the sterling scholar the end of October for visual arts. He will appreciate the scholarship towards college when he get's back from his mission!!
Big S is the only one at the Jr. High this year!  He walks to school every morning after family prayer with a friend.
Four at the Elementary this year! Their official meeting spot is at the flag pole which I think is cute. They reached a decision after a long debate between the stairs and flagpole. Flagpole one!
Service projects with YC and Interact Club!!!
We ran a couple of 5K's! This is a color run...I love it so much. It's tons of fun. You just have to ask yourself before running...what color of shoes do I permanently want? I got to volunteer- Rotary
Temple Square... our favorite place...   and now city creek center for lunch after!  I love their food court.

Our oldest daughter and me got to go back that night and attend the women conference. Beautiful
Lots of time spent with Grandma and Grandpa's and extended family!  We love our family.

Mommy has done lots of canning. I filled about 500 quarts of everything you can imagine!!Chicken, fruits, veggies, and juice-  lots of juice!

Carving pumpkins at Como Springs our favorite spot. We played kick the can for hours and climbed trees and had races in the peddle boats and ended the evening with scary (not so much) stories around the fire!

Zippidy doo dah  Zippidy A
And of course our family hikes. Here we are hiking Adams Canyon. It was a beautiful day and we even gathered acorns that we roasted later and threw out because they were disgusting! A very fun day.

We had heroes, princesses, missionaries, witches, scarecrows, and Ash from Pokemon!!!

And a rocker and Tigger! We had hot cider, pizza, donuts, and movies and games going on! I love Halloween!
Little guy couldn't decide between Robin or Tigger!!  OK mommy couldn't decide!  Well, that's our Fall. Short and sweet. The best part was the beauty of the season. Everything dies and new birth in the spring. God has His hand in every detail of our lives. Obedience is the key to happiness.
